Our History

Gribbles Pathology is one of Australia’s largest and longest established pathology service providers with its origins dating back to the establishment of South Australia’s first independent pathology laboratory in 1936.

Gribbles Pathology comprises of 43 NATA accredited laboratories across Australia and in excess of 225 Accredited Collection Centres. Gribbles Pathology also encompasses International laboratory operations throughout New Zealand, Singapore and Malaysia.

In December 2004 Gribbles was acquired by Healthscope Limited, which has since enhanced the services of both companies for the greater benefit of our Doctors and patients, allowing Healthscope’s network of hospitals to take advantage of the pathology and molecular testing services offered by Gribbles Pathology and Gribbles to further develop their relationships with hospitals and their Doctors.

1936	Dr Eugene McLaughlan establishes laboratory in Adelaide
1962	Dr Michael Gribble joins Dr McLaughlan
1989	Expanded into Victoria, relocated the Head Office, Regional Pathology (VIC) acquired
