Dr Andrew Sharard

General pathology
Dr Sharard graduated MB, ChB from the University of New Zealand and went on to gain his MD in pathology from the University of Otago. Subsequently, in Australia he was made an affiliate member RCPA. Following a lectureship in pathology at the University of Otago, Dr Sharard joined the New Zealand Medical Research Council as a Research Officer. He had the privilege of working with the head of the Endocrinology Research Unit, Dr Richard Purves and published research articles on thyroid gland autoimmune disease and other disorders. In Australia Dr Sharard has worked at Base Hospitals in Victoria as a Consultant Pathologist and established his own private pathology Laboratory. He joined the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science in 1995 and joined Gribbles Pathology in Warrnambool in 2004.
