Dr John Miliauskas

Dr Miliauskas graduated from the University of Adelaide and trained in Histopathology as registrar at the IMVS from 1978 to 1983 during which time he also held haematopathology and oncology Fellowships in the United States. Subsequently he held positions as Histopathologist and Visiting Medical Specialist at the IMVS, Gribbles Pathology and more recently at Clinpath Laboratories where he was Director of Cytopathology. John is a member of numerous Australian and International Societies including the American and European Society of Hematopathology. He has published over 40 articles and abstracts including a book chapter on fine needle aspiration of lymph nodes. Dr Miliauskas’ major interest is in haematopathology and he is a panellist with the ANZ Lymphoma Group and was a Member of the Committee, which has drawn up the Guidelines for Diagnosis and Management of Lymphomas under the auspices of the Australian Cancer Network. At present he is a member of the multidisciplinary Lymphoma Diagnostic Group (LDG). John also has a strong interest in general oncological pathology together with a keen interest in testicular and mediastinal tumours. Cytological areas of interest are in fine needle aspiration of tumours, especially breast, lymphoid and salivary gland tumours.
