Dr David Ellis

Dr Ellis graduated from the University of Melbourne and trained in histopathology as a registrar in Sydney at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, King George V Hospital and the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. His first 11 years as an Anatomical Pathologist were spent in Melbourne, first as a Staff Specialist at The Royal Melbourne Hospital and later with Melbourne Pathology. Following a period as Acting Director of Anatomical Pathology at St Vincent’s Hospital and Director of Pathology at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, he moved to Adelaide, first with Gramp Skin Pathology then as Medical Director at Clinpath Laboratories. His interests include urological and cutaneous pathology in addition to a particular enthusiasm for tumour and lymphoma pathology. This began while at The Royal Melbourne Hospital in collaboration with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute. Since 1986 Dr Ellis has been the Pathology Convenor and Panelist for the Australian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group, participating actively in clinical research. He is currently the Co-chair of the ACN (Australian Cancer Network) Committee for Australasian Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Lymphoma. Dr Ellis is a member of several Australian and European Societies including the American Society for Hematopathology and the European Association for Haematopathology.
